Meet Duo Laguna
David Freisberg is a distinguished freelance cellist based in Southeast Queensland. A graduate of the University of Queensland, David earned his Bachelor of Music in 2016 under the guidance of the esteemed cellist Patrick Murphy. With a passion for education and performance, David brings the beauty of string music to life in various private schools across Brisbane, where he leads inspiring string programs. His talent has also seen him perform alongside local quartets and share the stage with renowned artists such as Il Divo, Hanson, and Lee Kernaghan
Together with Dr. Robert Manley, David co-founded Duo Laguna, a captivating ensemble that seamlessly blends the richness of the cello with the elegance of the piano, creating unforgettable musical experiences
Dr. Robert Manley is a versatile multi-instrumentalist, respected music teacher, and dedicated academic. Rob’s career has seen him serve as a staff pianist at Queensland Ballet, the University of Queensland, and the New England Conservatorium. As a cellist, he has collaborated with prestigious ensembles including the Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra, Melbourne Chamber Orchestra, and Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra. Rob's research is dedicated to connecting regional Australian communities with the richness of classical music. His musical journey began with piano studies under Max Olding and Joyce Skelton in Brisbane, followed by advanced cello training with Howard Penny at the Australian National Academy of Music in Melbourne
