Our musicians perform with major symphony, opera and chamber orchestras around Australia, and we are proud to work with such an extensive network of professional and experienced orchestral musicians
Our string quartet is made up of some of our closest friends who also happen to be some of Australia's finest musicians. Many of them perform with the Opera Australia Orchestra, Queensland Symphony Orchestra, Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Camerata - Queensland's Chamber Orchestra, Australian Chamber Orchestra, the Queensland Pops Orchestra and our own commercial orchestra and The Australian Session Orchestra to name a few
Our string section is known for their extensive classical repertoire, but they've also built a reputation for delivering bold and innovative renditions of modern pop and rock pieces
WHAT MAKES UP A STRING QUARTET / TRIO / DUO?
A string quartet is made up of two violins, a viola and a cello
A trio consists of two violins and a cello
A duo is a violin and cello

$900 + GST first hour | maximum 1 hour
STRING DUO (violin + cello)
$1,200 + GST first hour | $600 + GST subsequent hours
STRING TRIO
$1,700 + GST first hour | $700 + GST subsequent hours

We have one of Australia’s largest music libraries, but there are millions of songs waiting to be arranged for string line-up. If your special song isn’t on our list, we will either try to source at no extra cost
If a string arrangement is not available for purchase we can write a personalised and original string quartet arrangement for you. The $350 + GST fee includes writing the song for strings and a recording which we will send you as a memento in the weeks leading up to your wedding - see song list below

McGee contracts some of the most in-demand freelance musicians in the country. As a result it is important that timeframes are adhered to. In the event that an event runs overtime, the musician has the right to leave when the scheduled booking expires. If the musicians are able to accommodate the extended time, an overtime fee of $250 + GST per performer, per hour will be charged

Armless chairs are required for all performing musicians. Performing in direct sunlight or rain may damage instruments - please ensure shade is available, and a wet weather plan in the event of rain
One lovely advantage to hiring strings quartet, is that the music can happen without amplification - this maximises versatility, and gives you the option of high quality live music wherever you are. That said, as an extended package we can supply instrument mics and use either the venue PA system or bring our own speaker, subject to the needs of the event and the availability of our equipmentThe space required for string quartet is approximately 4m x 2m or 3.5m x 3m
